Many of you will recognise Matt from when he played for Leicester Tigers but Matt is also quite the fundraising hero in his own right. He launched the Matt Hampson Foundation after a tragic accident in 2005 left him paralysed from the neck down but following his love of animals and close links to Leicester, he made the decision to back our campaign to build an essential veterinary facility, a decision we are so thankful for!
Last week Matt and his dog Alfie popped by the centre to meet some of the animals that are currently being cared for at the centre and to see how the new veterinary facility will help thousands of dogs, cats and small animals every year.
Matt said: “I couldn’t imagine if I didn’t have Alfie and he was alone in pain with nowhere or no one to turn to. I am right behind this appeal to help Woodside build the veterinary facility they so desperately need to cope with the current spiralling vet costs and sad increase in neglected and mistreated animals. This new veterinary facility will be a huge step forward for animal welfare in Leicester and beyond.”
Not only will the vet suite allow us to continue to provide top quality animal care it will also remove the need for sick and injured animals to undergo painful and often distressing journeys to and from local vet surgeries. That is why now more than ever we desperately need donations to reach our £1million target.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Matt for all his support so far. Keep your eyes peeled to see how else Matt will be helping us with our campaign.
