Fern & Renzo's Day Out

Fern and Renzo are two beautiful staffie crosses who we’ve had with us at Woodside since March. With the recent good weather we’ve been having we thought they deserved a little treat, so off we all went on a little adventure to Bradgate Park!

Both of them travelled very well, with Fern in a crate and Renzo – who isn’t too fond of crates – riding up front with Lara, which he enjoyed very much.  When we arrived at the park the two of them could barely contain their excitement as they caught a whiff of the nearby deer in the grass, they even got to meet some of them soon after and spent a few minutes cautiously sussing them out!

Almost as soon as we got to the park they spotted water and duly sprinted towards it before diving in. Renzo’s quite the fan of water so he made himself at home frolicking in the shallows. Fern was a little bit more apprehensive and toed gently around the edge of the water.  She soon saw how much fun Renzo was having though and bravely jumped in next to him and started jumping around, splashing us all in the process!

After a short ice cream break we all headed to the long grass which Fern absolutely loves!  She was jumping around like a spring lamb and soon enough Renzo was joining her for a bit of rolling wrestling.  They were having so much fun that they even drew a crowd of people – all of them remarking how well behaved and playful they were being!  This good behaviour continued as we stopped to say hello to a group of doggy friends.

We had one more stop by the water before heading back home and by the time we got back to the car, the two doggies were extremely tired, making the journey home a particularly peaceful one, with Fern asleep in her crate and Renzo hanging his head out of the window in true dog style!

When we got back home we treated Fern and Renzo to a nice shower and one more walk before tucking them into bed.  All in all, a great day out for two friendly and loving dogs!

Fern and Renzo are both desperate for a new home and loving family to call their own.  They need owners who can spend a lot of time at home for training and the exercise they dearly love.  If you think you could be their forever family, please come and say hello to them – they’d love to meet you and you might just fall in love!
