Care4Paws band profile - Violet Cities

Care4Paws Sunday Sessions is a new evening event at Woodside Animal Centre filled with great live music. The Sunday Sessions event will follow the Gala Day and begin at 6pm on Sunday 21st September.

You can buy your tickets online here - http://www.rspcaleicester.org.uk/sunday-sessions-tickets.aspx
They are just £10 and if you buy before 15/09/14, you get a drink for free! All money raised goes towards the centre and helping to care for the animals we love.

With only 11 days to go it is fast approaching. So we thought you might like to get to know the bands a little better. We got down to business and asked them a few questions...

First up we have Violet Cities...

At Woodside Animal Centre, we are always trying to support and help as many animals as we can. Why did you choose to support us?
We are all animal lovers, we all have pets and we all love doing whatever we can to help. We love playing music too!

Do you have any pets yourself? If not, if you could own any pet, what would it be?
Yeah we all have pets. 4 dogs and 3 cats between us!

We are really excited to have you perform on stage for us; can you give us a clue as to what songs you will be singing?
We will be doing all the songs of our latest EP 'Young hearts', which is available on iTunes... and a few new ones too.

As a local Leicester band, is it good to be performing in front of a Leicester home crowd?
Yeah we love playing Leicester. We always seem to pull a nice crowd in and people who haven't heard of you tend to stick around and watch.

We're very happy we've been asked to play. We love doing this sort of stuff, helping out wherever we can. We love playing music too, so it's just going to be a great day for us.

If you were to compare yourselves to an artist that is in the chart right now, which would it be? And why?
I'd say there isn't really an artist in the charts like us. I think we have a completely different sound. We've been compared to Razorlight a few times; however they are no longer in the charts! We do Indie/Pop.

You got the chance to perform at the Leicester Music Festival, this year, how was that?
It was an amazing experience. Best day of our lives. For a local unsigned band, working hard to get our music out there, it was just a great feeling to be able to play to so many new faces. The exposure was brilliant.

Find out more about the other bands in future posts.
