Top 10 fundraising activities for 2015

So we’re already half way through January 2015. How are those New Year’s Resolutions going?
At Woodside, we’ve popped our thinking caps on to bring you our top 10 ways you and your mates (and whoever else you manage to rope in) can get involved and raise money for a great cause this year.

We’re currently aiming to raise £1million to build an on-site vet suite to treat animals in pain. In our entire history we have never had to turn any animal in pain away and the sad reality is, if we don’t get the funds to build an onsite vet suite, this nightmare could sadly become a reality. What a perfect opportunity to do something fun to raise money?

1.       Cake sale
Everyone loves a cake sale. What could be better than sampling some tasty baked treats whilst raising money for a great cause? And as an added bonus, you won’t even need to feel guilty for those extra calories as it’s all for charity!

2.       Sponsored silence
For all you parents out there this might be a fantastic one to suggest to your children – it’ll give you some peace and quiet and raise money for animals in need – who can say fairer than that?

3.       Keeping fit
For the sporty ones amongst us, have you ever considered a marathon, a half marathon or a 10k run? Why not tick something off your bucket list and help a great cause at the same time. Charity football matches are also a great way of raising money!

4.       24 hour Zumba/dance/spin marathon
Why not get a bunch of friends together and take it in turns to do a 24 hour session of… well… whatever you like! Whether it be Zumba, aerobics, ballet or tap dancing – grab those dancing shoes and get dancing for charity!

5.       Raffle/Auction
Why not organize a raffle or an auction at your work, school or club. It’s a great way to make of use of any unwanted gifts and presents!

6.       Non Uniform Days
Kids love Non Uniform Days. Why not suggest to your boss or teacher to let everyone wear their own clothes for one day to raise money for animals in need.

7.       Charity dinner
This could be as simple as inviting all your friends over for a charity meal and asking for donations. Otherwise, you could organise a ticketed work charity dinner and include auctions and tombolas.

8.       Tin rattling
Plain and simple! Get a few friends together, get some buckets and get asking friends/families/people you pass on the street to dig in their pockets!

9.       Coffee morning
Bake some cakes and whip on that kettle! It’s time for a charity coffee morning. Why not have a good natter with your friends while making money for charity at the same time.

10.   Something more adventurous?
For the adrenaline junkies out there, you could try something a bit more daring. Why not try a skydive, a bungee jump, or get sponsored to shave your head – this might be a great way to make some memories while making money for a fantastic cause as well.

Have we given you some food for thought and got those creative juices flowing?
Why not grab some mates, put your thinking caps on and raise money for a brilliant cause!
