Unfortunately Staffies have a bad representation in the media as being dangerous and aggressive, without mentioning their warm and friendly temperament and that they are actually great for a family with young children. Hollie’s owner believes that Staffies are a strong breed and unfortunately get into the wrong kind of owners hands. Here at Woodside we believe every animal deserves a chance and as we can see with Hollie and Faye, the right owner can change a dog’s life.
According to The Kennel Club, a Staffordshire bull terrier’s genuine love of children is well known and Hollie loves spending time with some of the younger members of Faye’s family and friends.
Sadly Staffordshire bull terriers are often the most common dog in an animal rescue centre, as due to their ill-founded bad reputation, people are often wary of taking one on. However according to Faye, adopting a Staffie is one of the most heart warming and rewarding things she has done and Hollie has become a wonderful addition to her family. Her only advice is to do lots of research, give them lots of love, and you’ll never look back.
If you are interested in adopting a Staffordshire bull terrier, come down to Woodside Animal Centre to meet our four legged friends and see if any of them are right for you!
