Only 11 days to go until Pet Fest 2015!

The countdown is well and truly on for what is set to be our biggest and best Gala Day yet! There’s just under two weeks to go until Pet Fest 2015, our special Gala Day event that will be celebrating 40 years of Woodside’s support and care of Leicestershire’s animals in need.

The event will be taking  place on Sunday 9^th August with all the fun kicking off at 11am.

As always we’ll be hosting a range of great activities for all the family, with carnival games, craft stalls, pet care demonstrations, bouncy castles and a chance to meet our Woodside Animal Experts. Barrie Stephens’ fantastic pop-up Salon will also be returning this year and guests can get their hair styled by some of Leicester’s top hair stylists for a small donation, the proceeds of which will all go towards helping Leicestershire’s animals in need!

If you have a dog, why not bring them along to join in the fun too. We will be hosting  a special Woodside Dog Show this year. Every applicant will get a goody bag of treats and the winning dog will get their very own rosette to wear with pride.

During the day our grooming experts will also be sharing their top-tips for the best way to groom your pet with special demonstrations, pet care advice and an agility and fly ball area for your canine friends.

Plenty of refreshments will be on offer including our vintage tea room and a tasty barbeque. Every hot food purchased will come with a free drink too.

The money raised by the Gala Day will go towards funding our operations in caring for sick and abandoned animals and finding them new homes.

While Woodside Animal Centre is affiliated with the RSPCA, we are entirely responsible for raising our own funds from the Leicestershire area as we receive no money from the government or Lottery. Since opening in 1975, we have become one of the top animal re-homing centres in the country and events like this Gala Day help us continue the good work!

Pet Fest 2015 will take place on Sunday 9^th August from 11am-4pm at the Woodside Animal Centre on Scudamore Road. 

Whether you’re an animal lover or just want a great day out filled with fun activities, be sure to visit! Entry is £2 per person and children under 16 accompanied by an adult get in free.
